No two protein bars are built alike.  Beneath their shiny rappers, some protein bars pack a high protein punch with minimal fat.  Others fail miserably at the task.  To help you decide which protein bar is right for you, we’ve ranked five of the most popular protein bars on the market according to their protein and fat contents.  

The rankings take into account the protein content, total fat, and saturated fat in each bar.  Giving each bar a base of 80 points, we’ve added one point for each gram of protein in the bar and subtracted one point for each gram of total fat and each gram of saturated fat.  For simplicity’s sake, calories counts were left out of the equation but have been listed for your reference.  In addition to protein and fat, you may also want to consider sugar, carbs, sodium, and other nutrition facts that play into a balanced diet.  These rankings, however should give you a solid starting ground.
